The Cypress College Art Department offers a variety of A.A. degree options and Transfer Pathways for Animation, Art History, Ceramics, Design, Entertainment, Graphic Design, Illustration, Industrial or Interior Design, Photography, Multimedia, Sculpture, and many more areas of study
Students who earn an AA Transfer degree in Studio Arts demonstrate knowledge and skill in areas including Digital art , Design, drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, crafts, or photography and qualify for Transfer to the California State University System.
Sample Dream Future: professional artist, illustrator, layout artist, graphic designer, animator, advertising artist, art director, art critic, art educator, art therapist, gallery and museum curator, gallery assistant and art restorer.
Students who earn an AA Transfer Art History demonstrate knowledge and skill in A Variety of History, Language, and Studio areas. The Art History major promotes an understanding of art across cultures and geographic boundaries. Using historical art terminology, students are taught to look at a work of art with an appreciation of process, and can speak about historical, social and aesthetic functions.

This curriculum is designed to provide an opportunity for the Studio Arts Degree major to achieve an Associate in Arts in Studio Arts for Transfer (AA-T in Studio Arts) which completes the first and second year requirements for transfer to a four-year public California State (CSU) institution. Most CSU campuses place transfer students in the general BA degree program for a semester before allowing them to apply for a BFA concentration (i.e. BFA in Graphic Design, Game Design, UX, Animation, Illustration, Drawing & Painting, Sculpture, Industrial or Interior Design, Photography, etc.). Check with a Fine Arts Counselor to verify your particular pathway.
